1. Size, overlap and pinning

Measure beds and paths, then add overlap at seams. Use landscape pins or staples on edges. Cut neat openings for established plants instead of lifting whole sheets.

2. Woven mats, geotextile and GSM

Lightweight woven weedmat suits veggie borders. Heavier geotextile under gravel driveways resists punctures. Check roll width so you minimise joins.

3. Raised beds, paths and gravel

Pair weed mat with raised garden beds, steel edging and gravel paths. Fabric alone rarely stops persistent runners without mulch depth and edge barriers.

4. Care and replacement
